Nov 2, 2014; Foxborough, MA, USA; Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning (18) walks off the field during the fourth quarter of New England

2. Denver Broncos

Peyton vs. Brady speaks for itself, but to me, this matchup is slowly losing its luster. Brady has Manning beat by so much, it doesn’t feel like a rivalry anymore. Don’t get me wrong, it should be a good game, especially with it being in Denver this year, but I just don’t feel like it’s the marquee matchup anymore.

Yes, Peyton has decided not to hang it up after his embarrassing exit from the playoffs in 2014, but he is definitely over the hill. He may start the season strong again, but he will fade, and the success of the Broncos will hinge on C.J. Anderson and the running game.

As for this specific matchup, it will undoubtedly be good, which is why I have it as number two, but it just doesn’t have that same appeal as it used to. It’s a combination of Peyton slowly washing away, and Brady winning another Super Bowl that diminishes this game. However it goes to show you how good this rivalry is when even after all of that, it ranks number two on my list.
