2. Depth In Middle Of Defensive Line
As I just said, it’s kind of a toss-up between the defensive and offensive lines as the top need for the Pats going forward. Right now, the rotation New England has on the interior is actually decent: Chandler Jones, Dominique Easley, Jabaal Sheard, Sealver Siliga, Chris Jones, Alan Branch, and Rob Ninkovich. Between those seven players, the Patriots have a line that is talented, deep, and versatile.
However with that said, I want them to look for another impact player they can develop, and work into the rotation next season. I have liked what I have seen from Carl Davis out of Iowa, and Jordan Phillips and Malcom Brown are also guys that pop off the screen. Davis might slip into the second round, but both Phillips and Brown are guys that would require a first round pick, which I am sure is something Belichick would be willing to do this year.
Adding another big body that can hold up on the inside could potentially send this front seven from capable, to dangerous. We’ll see what happens in just over a month.
