New England Patriots Should Get The New York Jets’ First Round Pick For Tampering
By Cyrus Geller
With March Madness taking over the sporting world for the next few weeks, a little something called “cheating” in the NFL has flown under the radar. Nope, I’m not talking about the dumbest story in the history of stories (deflate-gate), I am talking about a little something called tampering.
If you remember back to December, the Jets’ owner Woody Johnson made this statement in regard to Darrelle Revis:
“It was our best judgment to do what we did. But Darrelle’s a great player. I’d love Darrelle to come back.”
This is the exact definition of tampering. You can’t come out in the middle of an NFL season and say you want a player who is currently under contract with another team back. It’s just against the rules, and the Jets should be punished heavily.

Now, you may be thinking to yourself, “yeah, maybe that is tampering, and against the rules, but does it really matter that much?”
Sure. It doesn’t affect the game much, but if I remember correctly, weren’t PROFESSIONAL beat writers calling for the NFL to SUSPEND Bill Belichick for the SUPER BOWL after an instance where the “integrity of the game” was being questioned?
The Pats would still have beaten the Colts by 40 plus if the footballs had been properly inflated, but according to you genius Patriots haters, it’s not about the lack of advantage gained. It’s about the “integrity of the game”, and we have to keep everything in its “perfect” state.
So thinking like that, I believe the New York Jets should give their first round pick to the New England Patriots. If Bill Belichick should have been suspended from the freaking Super Bowl, the Jets surely should lose a first rounder, right? I mean, we want to be fair to both sides, isn’t that right?
The “integrity of the game” is being questioned. We better act correctly, Mr. Manish Mehta, Mr. Gregg Doyel, and Mr. Bob Kravitz. The NFL is a sacred community, and there is no place for cheating of ANY kind, regardless of the team involved. If we’re being fair, we should call for the Jets to give up their first round pick. Hell, if we want to keep the “integrity of the game”, we should hand down punishment on the Colts as well, because PED’s should not be involved in the game of football.
Right, Kravitz?
Do the right thing, NFL. The “integrity of the game” is under fire, and like those horrible cheating Patriots, the Jets must be punished.
