Report: Patriots are under Investigation for Deflating Footballs

ESPN  came out with a report on Monday that will make the world question the Patriots’ credibility once again.

The Patriots took on the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday in the AFC Championship game. The Pats demolished the Colts, which has been a common occurrence the last four times these two teams have met.

However, the day after the AFC Championship game ended, the NFL began to investigate whether the Patriots deflated footballs during the game in order to catch the ball better.

Tom Brady responded to these reports by saying that they were “ridiculous” and that he has “heard it all.” Bill Belichick was classic Belichick by simply saying that the Patriots organization would “cooperate fully” with the NFL in its investigation. Patriots fans responded to these reports by thinking “here we go again.”

“Ridiculous. I think I’ve heard it all at this point”-Tom Brady after being asked about whether the Patriots deflated footballs or not

This investigation will now lead to people saying that the Patriots don’t belong in the Super Bowl, and that they had to cheat in order to beat the Colts. These are absurd accusations.

First of all, how can anyone say that the Patriots had to cheat in order to beat the Colts? Have they watched the past few times these two teams have met? The Patriots have outscored the Colts 189-73 the past four times the two teams have played against each other. Did those games just not count?

Next, the Colts only scored seven points in the AFC Championship game, and that had nothing to do with footballs and how much air was inside them. That only involves good coaching from Belichick and fantastic execution by Darrelle Revis and company. Therefore the Patriots would’ve only had to score eight points to win.

Finally, LeGarrette Blount had three rushing touchdowns and 148 rushing yards. He did all of that without having to catch a single football. The Pats clearly dominated this game and deserved to win, and now they will be facing the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 49. Lock up your footballs Arizona, the Patriots are coming.
