After the New England Patriots handed it to the Denver Broncos 43-21 on Sunday night, I think everybody involved with this team was feeling pretty good about themselves. I mean, weren’t the Broncos supposed to be the best team in the league? I thought Peyton Manning would obliterate Tom Brady in this matchup?
Nope. The Broncos were walking into a buzzsaw on Sunday, and they got roasted.
New England’s offense was clicking, their defense was playing at an unbelievable level, and they got a few huge plays from their special-teams as well. You need a perfect performance to beat these Broncos, and that is exactly what the Pats got. This game was not only huge for the team’s confidence, but it gives the Patriots the inside track to home-field advantage in the playoffs, which is going to be huge here in 2014.
