Fantasy Football: Week Eight Staff Must Start, Must Sit and Sleeper Picks

START: Peyton Manning, QB – Denver Broncos
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports
Peyton Manning passed Brett Farve for the all-time passing touchdown record last week, and he looks to continue his trend of greatness this Thursday against San Diego. He has now thrown for 510 passing touchdowns, and I believe he will reach 514 after this week. Peyton Manning has a history of bad luck against the Chargers, and Phillip Rivers has been playing at a MVP level. Therefore, Manning will need to play above average, even for him, to beat the Chargers. I predict this game will be a shootout, and Manning will have to throw the ball a ton to win. He is always a must start, but this week he will preform even better than his usual game.
SIT: Austin Davis, QB – St. Louis Rams
It looks like Austin Davis’ big game against the Eagles was only a fluke. His stats have gotten progressively worse: he went from 375 passing yards against Philadelphia, to 236 passing yards against San Francisco, to 152 passing yards against Seattle. He is slowly going downhill, and the Rams play the Kansas City Chiefs this week, so he will not have much time in the pocket to throw the ball. Davis was a risk to start that week against the Eagles, now he has turned into a fluke, and is a quarterback that should be kept on the bench until he proves that he deserves to start on your team.
SLEEPER: Dolphins D/ST
This pick was an easy one for me, and they are barely a sleeper. The Dolphins are playing the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday who are coming off an impressive win against the Browns last week. However, the Jaguars offensive line is full of holes that players like Cameron Wake and Jared Odrick can fill. I believe that the Dolphins will sack Blake Bortles many times, causing him to make more mistakes. The Dolphins’ defense are going to score a lot of points for your fantasy team this week, so if you have them or can get them, you need to.
