We don’t know if Charles is going to play yet, but if he does, you better believe Bill Belichick is going to devise a game-plan to take number 25 out of the game. Even at 75%, Charles is still dangerously explosive, and can hurt your defense in a variety of ways.
The Patriots currently have the 11th best run defense in the league, and they are coming off a very impressive performance against the Raiders. If Vince Wilfork, Dont’a Hightower, Chandler Jones, and Jerod Mayo come to play this week the way the played in week three, they will have no problem containing Charles, or Knile Davis (who is dangerous himself).
If the Patriots can stop the Chiefs’ running game, and force Alex Smith to beat them, Darrelle Revis and that secondary will have a fun time dominating on Monday night. However, if Charles and Davis get going early, and establish a nice rhythm on the ground, this could be a long day for the Pats.
