Through three weeks of this 2014 NFL season, our New England Patriots are 2-1, but it feels like they are off to an 0-3 start. The offense has struggled out of the gate, particularly the offensive line, who may be the worst line in the league right now.
Bill Belichick’s defense has fared much better, as they rank third in the NFL in total defense, fourth in points allowed, and currently own the best pass defense among all 32 teams. Granted, their competition thus far hasn’t been that stiff, but I think they are living up to expectations. And let’s remember, they have been without Alfonzo Dennard for two of the first three contests, and Brandon Browner for all three. Once they return, this group is going be lethal.
With all that said, I wanted to take a moment to rank the top five Patriots players through week three. Considering the offense has been putrid, this list will be dominated by the defense. Enjoy!
