MusketFire.com Game Ball: Which New England Patriots Player is Awarded the Game Ball This Week?
By Hal Bent
Each week there is one player who stands out above the others on the field. In Sunday’s win over the Minnesota Vikings, the Patriots had multiple players who stood out on the field and on the statsheet.
Free safety and defensive captain Devin McCourty swung the momentum in the first quarter with an athletic interception and electrifying return.
Wide receiver Julian Edelman hauled in six passes for 81 yards and a touchdown including a 44 yard reception, and he contributed on special teams as he had two field position changing punt returns of 34 and 28 yards.
Cornerback Darrelle Revis was assigned former Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings as his assignment to shadow the entire game. Revis shut him down allowing just one reception for four yards on four targets. Add in an interception, and Revis had a signature shutdown game.
But none of these three win the game ball this week. In fact, they are not even the finalists.
Read on to see who the finalists were and who was the winner!
