2. Shane Vereen, Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola deadly trio

The Patriots lack that prototypical tall, blazing fast outside receiver, which lead some to believe their passing offense can’t be as good as, say, the Detroit Lions’ attack. But the Lions don’t have a trio like Vereen, Edelman, and Amendola. The combination of these three weapons in the middle of the field is beyond deadly. It’s just not fair.

When throwing to these three players last night, Tom Brady was 15-15, 169 yards, and two Vereen touchdowns. There was just no stopping him. Edelman and Amendola are lethal in 1-on-1 coverage, as they will abuse whatever poor soul that has been given the assignment of covering them. And as for Vereen, not only is he great in the running game, but there is no linebacker in this league that can cover him when he goes out for a pass. He displayed that many times last night, none more obvious than his 40 yard touchdown reception.

I have a feeling this trio is going to have a monumental year. Watch out.
