2. Where was James White?

Throughout training camp, the Patriots have constantly been raving about rookie running back James White. Because of all the praise being heaped onto the young man, I was really looking forward to watching him in game-action. But he did not play as well as I expected, although it is not completely his fault. The Pats offensive line was made up of a few second and third stringers, and they never got a good push off of the line, which blows up any chance of White finding some running room.

White finished the game with four carries for nine yards, with a long of six. Whenever he carried the ball, he didn’t jump off the screen with that burst I have been hearing about. In fact, he looked exactly like he was supposed to look like. A fourth round rookie.
