Not much has been made of this, but in my mind, these two wideouts continuing to impress is very important. Rob Gronkowski has been stealing all the headlines among Tom Brady‘s weapons, but in all reality, Edelman and Amendola are just as important as Gronk is. And from what I can gather, both are excelling thus far in camp.
If Amendola can stay healthy, there is a good chance that these two could be one of the most dangerous receiver combos in the entire league. Their quickness and route-running skills are extremely potent, not to mention all the one on one coverage they should receive now that Gronk is back in the fold. If these two were to slip up this year, Brady’s offense would be in shambles. The Pats showed they could handle Gronk, Vereen, and Dobson’s absence last year, but I don’t think they could handle losing both Edelman’s, and Amendola’s production.
Hopefully they continue to practice well, and have it translate onto the playing field come September.
