It may not be this year, but eventually the Patriots need to upgrade the interior of the offensive line. Ryan Wendell is a fine player, but he is undersized and frequently gets overpowered by stronger defensive lineman. I honestly don’t know what has happened to Dan Connolly, who had a downright awful 2013 campaign. So why not attempt to fix this area in this year’s draft? There aren’t a lot of offensive guard prospects that are worth taking early, but Xavier Su’a Filo is one of them. He excels in both pass blocking, and run blocking, which is perfect for a Tom Brady offense that likes to stay balanced. Su’a Filo certainly isn’t perfect, but he has the tools needed to become one of the best young offensive lineman in the league.
