Round Six, Pick 198
DE Cassius Marsh, UCLA
At this point in the draft, we aren’t looking at players that will make a big impact in their rookie year. Marsh won’t be starting in year one, and he may not even end up making the final roster. But I do like his quickness off of the ball, particularly when he comes off the edge. Learning behind guys like Rob Ninkovich and Chandler Jones could help Marsh develop, and maybe turn into a starter for New England a few years from now.
Round Six, Pick 206
QB Logan Thomas, Virgina Tech
Bill Belichick always likes to draft “weird” players, and I think Thomas qualifies as one of these type of prospects here in 2014. He is a great athlete, but quarterback may not be his calling in the NFL. Whatever his purpose is, Belichick will put it to good use, and could possibly turn Thomas into a solid player.
Round Seven, Pick 244
WR Chandler Jones, San Jose State
Okay, I picked him mainly because he has the same name as that Chandler Jones, but after a quick viewing session of his film, I think he is a good little player. He is a small guy, standing at only 5’9, and weighing only 183 pounds, but he is quick, and can be relied on to catch the football. He could be a guy that works his butt off during training camp, and earn a spot on the 2014 roster.
