Round Two, Pick 62: Deone Bucannon (S, Washington State)

The Patriots could have a couple of nice options here already taking care of their defensive line problem. Tight end is a solid option with a guy like Troy Niklas around, interior offensive line could be an option with the likes of Weston Richburg or David Yankey, but I’m going to go a bit outside the box here. Safety Deone Bucannon is the pick here, and he would become an immediate impact player for the Patriots, and might fit the strong safety bill that Patriots fans have been asking for. With the likes of McCourty, Browner and of course Revis already in the fold, Bucannon could be the hammer for this Patriots secondary, and have a lot of help, something necessary for a rookie. Bucannon has some fantastic size (6’1 210), who is a very fluid mover, and a potential very good playmaker. Bucannon has the tools to become a top safety in this league, and would be a very good pick for the Patriots, although it’s not exactly the biggest need.

Other Options: TE Troy Niklas, C Weston Richburg
