Round Two, Pick 53 (Via Green Bay): Jace Amaro (TE, Texas Tech)

Trade: New England sends Pick 29 to Green Bay for Picks 53, 85, 161

Here’s the first trade of the mock draft, and it involves a Green Bay team desperately in need of more defensive talent pretty much all across the board, so they could potentially try and double dip in round one on defensive players like the Patriots did a few years ago. In return, the Patriots get an extra second round, third round and fifth round, in a great stockpiling of picks. I’m sure the Patriots would love to get a fifth round pick in this draft, and that’s part of what they get here. So with that second round pick, the Patriots grab the tight end that everyone has been wanting them to take, in Jace Amaro. We all know about Amaro’s versatility, he’s had great production in his years at Texas Tech, including 106 receptions, 1300 yards and 7 touchdowns. I don’t see Amaro as a first round prospect, and could see him falling into the middle of the second round, and the Patriots would be ready to snatch him up if he did.

Other Options: TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, DE Scott Crichton
