4. Phillip Rivers

Rivers was a mainstay in these rankings earlier in the year, but a rough middle portion of the season caused him to fall out of the top five. However he still has his team in the playoff hunt, and despite not having a great record, he has turned in a really good 2013 campaign. He was flawless in last weeks’ win over the best team in the AFC, and if everything falls just the right way, San Diego may find themselves in the playoffs. Here is where Rivers ranks in some of the most important quarterback statistics in the NFL, this season. First in completion percentage, fourth in yards and touchdowns, fifth in quarterback rating, third in QBR, and fourth in yards per attempt. If he had led his team to a better record, he is right in the thick of the MVP conversation with those numbers.
