The Patriots continuing their unpredictable personnel moves made the only trade before yesterday’s trade deadline, and instead of it being a wide receiver like most predicted it was Isaac Sopoaga a defensive tackle. Sopoaga fills a big need on defense as he is a stalwart against the run something that without Wilfork the Pats were in desperate need of. While Sopoaga is no Wilfork, Sopoaga should help the Pats with a strong inside presence and make it difficult for teams just to run up and down the field on them like the Dolphins did in the first half Sunday.

While this is a bit premature as when Brady came back from his ACL and MCL tear and was often ranked outside the top 10 QB’s. Now while this article isn’t as extreme as those were, its still an interesting perspective worth a read on the parts the Pats lost.
