The New England Patriots pulled out a dramatic win, followed up by a more dramatic win by the Boston Red Sox on Sunday Night. A memorable sports day indeed. The Patriots had a lot of positives in the Saints game, but the injury bug keeps hitting the team hard. It’s too early to know anything since the Patriots organization says as little as possible. We all know Vince Wilfork is gone for the year, and Tommy Kelly is out indefinitely with no information on his status. Against the Saints, Jerod Mayo left the game with a shoulder injury and had his arm in a sling. Dan Connolly left with a head injury, which I assume is another concussion for him. Amendola got knocked out, and he no doubt has a concussion. And Aqib Talib left with a hip flexor injury. If Mayo and/or Talib miss extended time, Brady and company are going to have to start score north of 30 points a game for this team to continue winning. And they may be ready to do that. Austin Collie got in the mix and had two critical catches. Dobson dropped a few more passes and needs to get it figured out.
Is your coffee hot? It’s time to get caught up on The Patriot Way.

Issuing a challenge to New York Jets fans, Ryan said Monday they will win the game if the fans can re-create the raucous stadium atmosphere from Sept. 20, 2009. That day, the Jets hit Tom Brady so hard and so often that they beat the stuffing out of his UGG boots — that is, if he wore them in those days.
D Succeeds At Foes Expense

The Patriots defense spent a week staring at Jimmy Graham, whether it was in a dark film room, a sunlit practice with Rob Gronkowski as his impersonator or a prominent page of the playbook that contained the New Orleans Saints tight end’s pertinent measurables.
