8. Kansas City Chiefs:

Who would’ve thought that the worst team in the NFL last year, would all of a sudden be one of the biggest surprises in football. Everyone knew that the Chiefs would improve with Alex Smith and Andy Reid at the helm, but not this drastically. The Chiefs handled a very good, and very explosive offense in the Cowboys, and made it seem simple. They completely took the running game away, stuffing Demarco Murray many a time, and lockdown on Tony Romo’s security blanket Jason Witten. With the defense looking so solid, the offense at least managed to control the game with Jamaal Charles awakening in the 4th quarter to seal things up with a number of big runs. Alex Smith was once again quite effective leading his new team, 223 yards and two touchdowns, and even 57 yards on the ground. Everyone had the Denver Broncos pegged to win the AFC West, but also at 2-0, the Chiefs are doing their best to keep pace. This is one team to really pay attention to as they continue to improve their offense, and defense continues to stifle.
