First, before we start of I want to say that this information is provided by Field Yates of ESPN.com who did a great job of breaking down each UDFA deal. This gives an update on which, UDFA has been are guaranteed the most money. There is one person on the top of the list that we shouldn’t be surprised about and that’s T.J. Moe, who’s guaranteed $30,000 with a signing bonus $8,000. The collective bargaining agreement dictates that all contracts signed by rookie free-agents are with three years in length with a minimum value of $1.44 million over the life of the contract.
Not all rookie free agent contracts are the same, as teams can guarantee differing amounts of money to each player upon signing them.
T.J. Moe was given the most money at $30,000 which is based on the fact that he was one of the better players available that didn’t get drafted. Quentin Hines was guaranteed the lowest amount at $1,000 and was released earlier on today.
