Wait, What? Yes, you’re eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. This doesn’t come as a surprise for most Patriots fans for the 1st part at least. It was reported by the USC Athletics Twitter page that Brady, Amendola, and Owens we’re working on routes together. https://twitter.com/USC_Athletics/status/319554999241826305 Both guys are eager to get after it and want to succeed this season. But , Owens? Why? I was just as shocked as well to see this news and am not totally sure what to make of this news. It was just a day after it had been originally reported that Amendola and Brady we’re working together. Could this lead to Owens coming to New England this season? It hasn’t been reported yet, but if the Patriots end up not finding the deep threat they desire don’t be shocked if they go this route.
Brady has been known to workout with his receivers in the past near his home in California as he’s worked out with Wes Welker, and Julian Edelman in years past. Terrell Owens hasn’t played in a NFL game since the 2010 season and is currently 39 years old. There is definitely question on does he even have it anymore? It’s hard to say because when he was with the Seattle Seahawks last season, I watched closely to see how he was doing… It was obvious he still had good speed for a guy his age. There was just one problem though, he couldn’t hold onto the football and struggled too throughout the time he was with the team. Owens is definitely one of the best to play the game but if they choose to go this route there are better options for them.
Owens is second in the NFL all time in receiving yards and third in receiving touchdowns. Prior to signing with the Seahawks, Owens played in eight games for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. He also became a co-owner of that team upon signing. The Patriots begin their off-season workout program April 15. Organized team activities start May 20.
