New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Week 7 Injury Report
The New England Patriots and New York Jets are set to battle it out tomorrow, and below is Friday’s official injury report list for both teams. There are plenty of players listed on both sides, including several notable players listed “out” and “questionable”.
New England Patriots
Out
FS Steve Gregory (hip)- The Pats have missed him for the previous two weeks, and his absence has visibly hurt the secondary. It’s caused Patrick Chung to have to do things in coverage that he is simply incapable of doing.
LB Tracy White (foot)
RB Brandon Bolden (knee)- Likely re-injured his knee on Sunday against the Seahawks, tough loss given his solid display this year but the Jest run defense is subpar and backups Danny Woodhead and Shane Vereen are solid.
Kevin Hoffman-US PRESSWIRE
Questionable
WR Wes Welker (ankle)- He’s playing
TE Rob Gronkowski (hip)- Continues to be listed questionable despite playing the last three games
WR Julian Edelman (hand)- Still has not returned from a likely broken hand in Week 3.
TE Aaron Hernandez (ankle)- Returned last week and played well, he’s good to go.
LG Logan Mankins (calf, hip)- He’s been nicked up all year but bounced back after taking a week off earlier this year. His injury situation is one to monitor closely.
RT Sebastian Vollmer (ankle, back)- Aside from a poor performance against Von Miller (no shame in that), Vollmer has been arguably the best tackle in the NFL this season.
LB Dont’a Hightower (hamstring)- The impact rookie hasn’t made as much of an impact in recent weeks, but he’s still up there in the DROY conversation.
SS Patrick Chung (shoulder)- A recent injury, but I bet he plays given the hip injury that is still keeping Gregory out. They can’t afford to start two rookies at safety, especially given how raw Nate Ebner is. However, the injury to Chung shows that Devin McCourty could be in line for some playing time at safety.
CB Sterling Moore (knee)
OL Nick McDonald (shoulder)
Probable
DT Kyle Love (knee)- Had a rough week against Seattle. Is the injury affecting him more than we think or was it just a bad game against a tough opponent?
New York Jets
Doubtful
DT Sione Pouha (back)
DT Kendrick Ellis (knee)
RB Bilal Powell (shoulder)
S Eric Smith (knee)
Questionable
C Nick Mangold (ankle)
RB Joe McKnight (ankle)
WR Clyde Gates (shoulder)
Probable
S LaRon Landry (heel)
QB Mark Sanchez (back)
RG Brandon Moore (hip)
WR Stephen Hill (hamstring)
LB Bart Scott (toe)
TE Dustin Keller (hamstring)
WR Jeremy Kerley (finger)
LB Calvin Pace (shoulder)
LB Bryan Thomas (hamstring)
LG Matt Slauson (knee)
