Boston’s Gonna Be A Rocking!

If you have a love for any or all of the Boston sports teams, than your in luck.  As for this weekend and this weekend only all of your beloved teams will either be in action or preparing for action.  That’s correct sports fans it’s time to grab that remote, sit back, relax and enjoy the wild ride over the next few days.  If things work out the way we hope, watch out because Boston’s gonna be a rocking!  Oh, and just so you know they won’t be any stopping it.

So let’s break down the teams and their happenings:

The Boston Red Sox**:

The Sox are opening up Friday night with a HUGE series at Fenway Park, with the visiting New York Yankees in town!  In my opinion it’s a can’t miss series, as we all know there’s no love-loss between these two teams.  It’s the most famous rivalry in all of sports, and this one’s just the beginning of eighteen meetings this year.  Also don’t forget for those who can’t the Sox on a regular basis, the game on Saturday will be shown on FOX at 4:05 pm.  Then it’s prime-time baby, as ESPN will broadcast the finale of the series at 8:00 pm on Sunday night.

The Boston Celtics:

It’s time for a little “b-ball” action now as the Celtics are in the thick of things with the NBA Play-offs.  The Celtics are up 2-1 in their best of seven opening round series with the Chicago Bulls.  After being stunned at home in game 1, the C’s turned things around and walked away winners in games 2 and 3.  After a few days it’s back to game action come Sunday, as the C’s and Bulls square off in Game 4 on ABC, at 1:oo pm.

The New England Patriots:

The Patriots along with Bill Belichcik, and company will be HARD at work over the weekend, with the 2009 NFL Draft.  With eleven total picks over the course of the two day event, it’s safe to say ole Bill and his trusty staff will be very busy.  As they look for the next Tom Brady, type draftee in the late rounds.  Not to be forgotten is the Pats, have 4 of the first 58 picks in this year’s draft.  With selections at #23, 34, 47 and 58 so look for a little magic as they rebuild and restock at certain positions, based upon team needs.

The Boston Bruins:

The Bruins who are the #1 team in the NHL, have just wrapped up the opening round of the play-offs.  And they’re sitting back and relaxing after they made very quick and rather easy work of the Montreal Canadiens, as they swept their rivals in 4 games.  Who’s next for the Bruins?  That’s still to be determined as they need to wait and see after the rest of the Eastern Conference, match-ups are over with.  So in the mean they have their chance to rest, recoup and prepare for their next opponent.

Well in the immortal words of Mr. Bugs Bunny, himself “That’s All Folks” we ran out of teams to discuss.  But be sure to return next week as I’ll have a recap of the weekend’s events for everyone.  In the mean time it’s time to cheer and support for your favorite Boston clubs….Enjoy!

**One last quick note for anyone who’s unaware at the moment the Red Sox beat the Yankees, 5-4 in 11 innings.  Thanks to Jason Bay and Kevin Youkilis and their knack for the long-ball!
