New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft recently praised newly acquired wide receiver Brandin Cooks. What did the owner say about Cooks?

It has been a busy offseason for the New England Patriots. Coming into the offseason, the Patriots had plenty of free agents on the defensive side of the ball.

They have done an excellent job either signing or replacing those players to keep the defense as a strength going into next season. On the offensive side of the ball, not too many believed that they would be making any major moves.

While the Patriots knew they would likely need to either sign or acquire a tight end, that was assumed to be the only major move made on offense. However, the Patriots threw everyone a curveball when they reached a deal with the New Orleans Saints to acquire Brandin Cooks.

Since being drafted by the Saints, Cooks has emerged as a very good wide receiver in the NFL. In two of his three seasons as an NFL wide receiver, Cooks has totaled at least 1,000 receiving yards.

Recently, Cooks received some high praise from his new owner. Here’s what Kraft had to say about Cooks.

Being mentioned in the same sentence as Randy Moss is certainly high praise for Cooks. Even though Cooks had had success in the NFL, he still isn’t quite Randy Moss. One of the things that Cooks does possess like Moss is his blazing speed.

Even though the Patriots have had some good receivers like Wes Welker and Julian Edelman most recently, Cooks does have a huge upside. At just 23-years-old, Cooks has yet to reach his prime, and playing with Tom Brady is obviously a great situation to be in.
