NFL Training Camps kick off over the next couple of weeks and the New England Patriots have officially made the first dates of practices available at With veterans reporting on Wednesday, July 23 there is finally an end to the long spring and summer without football and the first steps towards erasing the sour taste leftover from the 27-16 loss to Denver in the AFC Championship game last January.


With an exciting offseason (Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner) and usual head-scratching NFL Draft (Dominique Easley and Jimmy Garoppolo) the Patriots’ training camp is expected to feature a number of interesting position battles. Whether using a sick day at work to attend practice or catching up on all the training camp news here all summer long at, there is Bill Belichick’s favorite buzzword–competition–at a number of spots. Here are seven spots to watch this summer at the Patriots training camp and during the preseason games:

      Always a concern with injuries in training camp…hopefully there is plenty of competition so there is quality depth for the fall and winter

      Pats could conceivably just keep Gronk & Hoo-man and use Devlin as H-back/TE (he lined up there at OTAs on occasion)…gotta see these UDFAs on the field before we can put them in the conversation for a roster spot. :)
