The week of the NFL draft is finally here. After months and months of speculation, analysis, and discussion, the time to actually see who gets picked is here. In honor of this being the last week to pretend like we actually know what Bill Belichick and company will do, I have decided to put together my first (and last) seven round mock draft for New England. There are plenty of holes in it, but that’s part of the fun. Enjoy!

I like Jace Amaro as the 29th pick. I don’t think it will happen….some team desperate for a certain player (QB?) will offer BB multiple picks in the early rounds (2nd, 3rd, or 4th rounds) There are quality players that BB could get to fill holes on both sides of the ball. The O-line needs to be addressed…Wendell and Connolly are not the answer (good depth players) and will be overwhelmed against good teams with quality D-lines. They also have Mankins with a big cap hit in 2015. I like Weston Richburg (C)…BB may draft him in the 3rd or 4th round. I expect BB to trade out of the first round… could be the year to get a plethora of quality young talented players.

Honestly, I think you may be right. This year’s draft is the perfect situation for Belichick to trade down yet again.

  • Robert Snell

Defensively I like Arron Donald and Deone Bucannon and Offensively I love Amaro and Jenkins and a good O lineman cause how much we struggled against great D lines like the Jets/Cinny/Panthers/Bills/Saints/and Texans un which 2 of these teams r in r Divison Jets and Bills and which the Bills lead the NFL last year in sacks! just a good food for thought!

  • Jeff Boland

I wouldn’t take Jace Amaro in the first round and would be pissed if the Pats take TE’s with their first 2 picks. Aaron Donald is a beast but will go before 29. If they can find a partner, BB will trade down. I see them taking a TE in 2nd or 3rd round, along with DE and SS. If they can add a few picks, I’d love to see them add someone like Carlos Hyde (RB). Devalued but can add so much to the offense.

    • Cyrus Geller

I like Amaro’s game. I think he could help elevate the Pats offense back to where it was with Hernandez and Gronk.

      • Jeff Boland

Kinda bummed that we didn’t get any of the top TE’s, but I haven’t watched enough of the new QB to say if it was worth the high pick.

I could see some of this happening Cy, good job but we all know there’s no guessing Bill. I think it’s easier to win the lottery than figure out what he’s gonna do, LOL.
