I’m Still Not Going To Say GOOD-BYE!

I’m still not going to say GOOD-BYE, I truly dispise having to do that.  So with that being “said” this is what I’ve come up.  It’s a welcome letter so to speak for the fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, on their new quarterback Matt Cassel.  Just like with yesterday’s “letter” regarding Mike Vrabel, feel free to comment and leaves your thoughts on either player.

To All Fans Of The Chiefs,

Your new quarterback Matt Cassel had been in New England about four years and until this past season was one of the back-ups to superstar Tom Brady.  After Brady’s injury early in the season opener with your team the Chiefs, and hearing the “news” he was gone for the year.  We had no clue what this guy named Cassel could do or had in him.  But we learned very quickly as did the entire league and it’s fans.  We knew he had a good arm, and was well rested after not starting in like a million years, lol.  But we quickly grew to know him and came to admire and praise him over this past season.

You’d hear the crowds chanting “Razzle Dazzle Matt Cassel” as he was leading the Pats to another scoring drive down the field.  He has an arm, and can AIR it out when called upon, so that’ll be a great weapon to utilize with the speed of Dwayne Bowe and the sure hands of Tony Gonzalez.  Just give him the chance, don’t hold him back in regards to throwing deep down the field, and you’ll be greatly rewarded.

With Cassel your also getting a QB that has no problems not only using his arm to get the first-down, but also his legs.  Cassel has the ability to “shake and bake” most linebackers and scramble for the first.  Trust me we saw him do it from five yards away right into the end-zone for the score.  He can also do it for twenty plus yards down the middle of the field, while making defenders miss, and look just plain silly.

Just pray who’s ever calling the offense next season for your Chiefs, has the faith and confidence in his abilities.  He’ll be fine as will the Chiefs, especially since you both will have a full six months going through drills, training camp, mini camps together as a team.  Which is one thing Cassel didn’t have the luxury of this past season.  He was learning on the fly, trying to build that chemistry and confidence with players on the field.  Which I may add he did just fine, on as the season moved on.

The Chiefs are not only getting one solid player, but two in this deal.  Can it make you a play-off team next season?  Possibily, but no one knows for sure at this time.  What they can help you get is 8-9 wins with the schedule you have, and the AFC West title just might be yours for the taking very soon.  Plus signing Cassel to a longer contract, say maybe a 4-5 year deal and then drafting WR Michael Crabtree to BOLSTER the offense, could make the Chiefs a contender, as well as a force to be reckon with ONCE AGAIN in the AFC!
