The Patriots are amidst the most significant changes to their organization for the first time in over two decades, and because of that, many questions have come up regarding the team's outlook and fate. With the promotion of Jerod Mayo and a continued search for some of the most critical positions on the staff, there is a belief they are moving in the right direction to start the offseason.

However, because of the alleged issues between Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft over the years finally coming to light, it's painting an image of New England that is starting to draw concerns regarding their future.

One NFL insider, Mike Sando of The Athletic, wrote about what he feels could be the ultimate fate of the Patriots if they continue down the path they have seemingly set so far.

He discussed how the Dallas Cowboys have run things under Jerry Jones, as he has been very actively involved with almost everything regarding the team and believes if Kraft begins to do the same now that Belichick is gone, they could suffer the same fate as a talented yet underachieving Cowboys team for the next several years.

“There is one guy who has been doing it for 20 years, and now everyone has got their say, and it has the potential to be Dallas all over again,” a veteran coach said. “The owner has been held back for 20 years. He is going to be involved. His son is going to want to be involved. It will be interesting if they tell the coach it was Bill’s fault with Mac Jones and he can play and we gotta get him right.”

Although it may sound a bit doom and gloom, the possibility of increased involvement from Jonathan Kraft has been a hot topic in recent weeks, mainly since he didn't attend Jerod Mayo's introductory press conference, and reports suggest he wants more say in football operations. Then, there was the announcement of Robyn Glaser from strictly Kraft businesses to a significant role with the team.

If that continues, it surely wouldn't be long until the elder Kraft decides he, too, should have more say in what goes on far more than he has in 24 years. That would seem problematic, especially with a new head coach and a possible new general manager in the building. But it would make sense since he forfeited most of his say to Belichick during his tenure.

Hopefully, it won't be the case, and this is just pure speculation and more hyperbole than anything.
