Lots of people over the past two seasons have tried to make the assumption that Bill Belichick would love to have Tim Tebow on his football team. Tim Tebow is back on the market, again and many believe the Patriots would give him a chance. It seemed like we’d always here this same stuff regarding Tebow, but Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports say’s it won’t ever happen. A big sigh of relief for some Patriots fans who literally can’t stand even hearing his name.

According to Michael Silver, Belichick “hates” Tebow as a player despite rumors regarding the Patriots having interest in signing him. When asked about the odds of New England, signing Tebow, Silver’s source shot it down immediately.

“No chance. Plus they wouldn’t like the circus that comes with it.”

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl–tim-tebow-blackballed-by-nfl-teams-because-of-cult-like-following–media-frenzy-054940389.html

This really isn’t a big deal what so ever since we already have Tom Brady and would have little to no use for Tebow. Even though, Belichick has been very complimentary of Tebow in the past.

If this report is true, this damages his shot at playing in the NFL again as many teams obviously share the same feeling. There aren’t many teams that would want a QB with this much attention, especially when Tebow is as raw as he is. Tebow has many flaws in his game and the media frenzy regarding him is a bit too much.

Tebow may be a great guy and a role model to young kids, but he’s not that great of QB just yet and the media’s obsession with him is just too much.

The New York Jets just can’t stay out of the media’s bullseye. As the New York Jets welcomed West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith in the 2013 NFL Draft in the second round at the No. 39 overall, the Jets said good-bye to Tim Tebow this morning, face-to-face as he arrived at the Jets facility for another day of workouts – reported by NFL Albert Breer.

Nov 22, 2012; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow (15) leads his teammates and New England Patriots players in prayer after the game on Thanksgiving at Metlife Stadium. The Patriots won the game 49-19. Mandatory Credit: Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

In 2012, Tim Tebow had a record of 39 passing yards and 102 rushing yards and the question that comes to everyone minds is where will Tebow land next?

Drafted by the Denver Broncos as the 25th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, Tebow had a great rookie season playing scarcely in six games as a back-up before starting the last three games of the Bronco’s season. He finished his rookie season with a total of 654 passing yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions, and he also rushed for 227 yards and six touchdowns. But in my opinion the real highlight of his career was during the first round of playoff in 2011 when the Broncos hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tebow threw for a career high of 316 yards and two touchdowns including a 80 yard touchdown to Demaryius Thomas on the first play of overtime finishing at game with a 29-23 win.

NFL Network Marc Sessler has listed the New England Patriots as number one on his list for a possible landing spot for Tim Tebow and cited Bill Belichick saying “he’s a valuable guy” back in October 2012. It’s fair to say Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels had his influence while with the Broncos back in 2010 in the drafting of Tebow. Also, Belichick had some interest in Tim Tebow in 2010 while it might not have been clear in the media, it was mentioned in the book War Room by Michael Holley, but that was back then.

Bill Belichick had Chad Johnson (Ochocinco) fit into the “no publicity stunts” with the Patriots organization, but Tebow is a tall order to put any publicity behind. He has good character, never got into trouble, so in that regards, it should not be a problem. Tebow just got into a bad situation at the wrong time, and by no means, I think he is “bad player”. He’s hard working and all he needs is a better opportunity and better coaching. But the money situation in Tebow’s contract complicate things.

It’s often noted that he forges an NLF career as a fullback/tight end X-factor, but at only 25 years-old, 6’3”, 236 lbs, (Gronk 6’6”, 265 lbs, Hernandez 6’1” 245 lbs) I think Tebow could be used as a flexible and versatile player in the Belichick offensive scheme. But if he’s unwilling to be flexible as reported by Adam Schefter then it’s a big No in Belichick’s perspective.

(And the more I think about it, the less I would want Tebow as a Patriots because there’s no way his publicity baggage will go away)

The New England Patriots Rundown piece is back today, as we will continue to run down the latest news with quick thoughts on the 2013 NFL Draft, Patriots players, the AFC East, and NFL news as a whole. There will also be some stuff that isn’t football-centric, but it will tie into the NFL and Patriots.

Kirby Lee/USA TODAY Sports

1. Tom Brady took to his Facebook page yesterday to praise law enforcement of the job they have done in quickly apprehending those responsible for the heinous crime. Brady said, “Thank you to all the brave law enforcement agents for keeping our city safe. #BostonStrong.” Law enforcement did an absolutely incredible job, and we have the FBI, the local police, the ATF, others, and the vigilant citizens who sent in numerous pictures and tips to the authorities.

2. Julian Edelman has been even more active, and he actually visited a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombings on Thursday. He and actor Bradley Cooper visited victim Jeffrey Bauman Jr., and here’s the tweet from Julian Edelman below.

Visited #survivor #stud #hero Jeffrey Bauman Jr. today. He was looking great and is a true inspiration. #strong twitter.com/Edelman11/stat…

— Julian Edelman (@Edelman11) April 19, 2013

This is truly heart-warming stuff.

3. The New England Patriots worked out Kansas State Wildcats star linebacker Arthur Brown, who has finally found himself in the first-round discussion in this year’s draft, and I highly doubt he makes it past the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens, and the first round as a whole. He probably won’t be there for the New England Patriots at No. 29, so the Pats would have to snap him up there if they really like him. While I think they are inclined to go the “BPA” route in this year’s draft, at some point you have to weigh in the need. The Patriots already have a great trio of starting linebackers, so all they need to do is build depth behind them in players who can cover. NESN’s Luke Hughes writes that Brown’s speed and coverage ability make him a strong possibility for the Patriots, but I think it’s best to pass up on him and wait until like the third-round to draft an LB (unless if someone really good falls into the second). My friend is touting Alec Ogeltree as a pick for the Pats later on in the draft, so I’d like you guys to leave your opinions about Ogeltree in the comments section.

4. The New York Jets could have a solid, underrated duo of running backs in Mike Goodson and Chris Ivory, because the New Orleans Saints have signed Ivory to a tender and will now almost certainly deal him off. The New York Jets didn’t want to sign Ivory to an offer sheet, but they are very interested in nabbing Ivory. Rich Cimini of ESPN New York writes that there are “strong indications” that Ivory will end up in New York.

5. After James Harrison likely dropped his asking price, the Cincinnati Bengals recently went back to the negotiating table after a “hitch” in the deal happened a few days ago. Now, Harrison is a member of a rival AFC North team after signing a two-year deal with the Bengals yesterday. Will he be able to transition to the 4-3 as an OLB after spending his entire career with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a 3-4 OLB? And how will the Bengals get the most out of his pass rushing ability? One thing is for certain in my opinion, his hard-nosed run defense will not suffer much.

6. If the Arizona Cardinals really are thinking about taking D.J. Fluker with the 7th pick in the draft, then they need to reassess things. At some point, you have to scrap need, because taking Fluker in the top ten is a huge reach. He’s a solid right tackle, but I feel like this mad rush for tackles at the top end of the draft is a little too much. Then again, this news could be agent-driven (more draft stuff than free agent stuff is agent driven), but tackle is the most valued position in this year’s draft- even more so than pass rusher.

7. Mark Sanchez tells the New York Daily News that he blames the New York Jets organization for the Tim Tebow fiasco. And you know what? Sanchez is right on.

8. There are always people who feel the need to make classless jokes, and one of them caught me eye yesterday. It wasn’t even that it was “too soon” (the Boston bombings only transpired a few days ago), it’s the fact that this joke was never appropriate. I’m not going to screen-cap this tweet, but I will link to it here. This tweet from a Bad Luck Brian account was absolutely disgusting, and it’s even more disgusting that 472 heartless individuals retweeted it and 282 sheep “favorited” this horrendous tweet. I’ve never blocked an account on Twitter before, but this deserved to be that first black mark. Absolutely disgraceful and disgusting. It was also completely uneducated, because any long-distance runner will tell you that the Boston Marathon is the penultimate dream. The ultimate dream? Winning it. You guys watched that Saint Ralph movie, right?

Anyway, enough ranting from me. You guys enjoy your Saturday.
