Recent New England Patriots rumors are that Adrian Peterson is going to be meeting with the team on Monday.

Even though free agency has settled down, there have still been some New England Patriots rumors. According to Adam Schefter, running back Adrian Peterson will be meeting with the team on Monday.

Just when you thought the Patriots offseason moves were finally over, now Adrian Peterson is now set to meet with the defending Super Bowl champions.

Peterson, 32, spent the first 10 years of his career with the Vikings, in which he rushed for over 1000 yards in seven of his ten seasons. He only had 37 rushes for 72 yards in three games in 2016, but if any coach can get the best out of Peterson, it’s Bill Belichick.

This is Peterson’s second free-agency visit of the off-season. At this stage in his career, Peterson surely is looking to play for a Super Bowl tending team.

The Patriots have had an excellent offseason so far and adding Peterson could make it even better. As of now, the Patriots haven’t shown much interest in bringing running back LeGarrette Blount back.

Blount set the single-season record for rushing touchdowns. However, his yards per carry average was below 4.0. Even though Blount had a good season for the Patriots, they don’t appear to be in a rush to bring him back.

So far, the Patriots have added running back Rex Burkhead this offseason. Burkhead could be a good weapon for New England’s offense, but his sample size in Cincinnati was small. With Dion Lewis, James White, and Burkhead, the Patriots lack a between the tackles runner. This is something that Peterson could certainly help with.

With the meeting set for Monday, we will have to see if Peterson will be joining New England for next season. As the favorites to win the Super Bowl, Peterson could be in position to win a ring if he signs.
