With the season starting in just a couple of days, it is a great time to do some predictions that may possibly happen during the New England Patriots 2016 season.

It’s exciting to think of these things because it’s a brand new season, and looking ahead for the New England Patriots, it looks like a fun one.

Here are five bold predictions for the Patriots 2016 season:

#5 – Malcolm Mitchell Has A Great Season

Before an ugly preseason injury vs. the New Orleans Saints, WR Malcolm Mitchell looked promising.

The 4th round pick out of Georgia has been raved about by coaches and players throughout training camp/preseason and certainly showed his ability in the first game. Unfortunately, it was too good to be true and he had an accident that looked uglier than it actually was.

New England won’t rush him back and will allow him to heal, and when he does, whether that is before or after Brady returns look for him to play the Brandon Lloyd/Brandon LaFell type role in the offense.

In 2013, Aaron Dobson had the best season for a rookie wide receiver under Bill Belichick with 37 REC, 519 YDS, and 4 TDs. To say he would have more than 6 TDs may be a stretch due NE fielding one of the best offenses on paper and likely won’t do heavy WR sets as much, but expect his numbers to be a bit better.
