The New England Patriots roster is in the process of being trimmed down to 75 players. There are no shortage of players on the bubble who will be fighting for their NFL lives tomorrow.

This article focuses on 21 Patriots roster bubble players entering the preseason Week 3 game against the Carolina Panthers. Note that this list does not include players that are doomed to be cut; rather, every player on this list still has a decent chance to make the Patriots roster.

Let’s get started with the running backs on the bubble:

21. Tyler Gaffney

After suffering season-ending injuries in each of the past two preseasons, Gaffney is tracking upwards and could actually cement a roster spot with a good performance tonight. Dion Lewis on the PUP and Donald Brown getting cut have both boded well for Gaffney.

20. D.J. Foster

The presence of Lewis to the PUP increases Foster’s chances of sneaking onto the roster as the second pass catching specialist running back after James White.

There is a window of opportunity for D.J. Foster

19. Joey Iosefa

It’s hard to see both James Develin and Iosefa making the final Patriots roster, so the Hawaii product has to show something tonight.
