At this time of year, you see no shortage of New England Patriots roster predictions. Everyone and their mother is trying to predict the Patriots roster. Instead of churning out essentially the same Patriots roster prediction as other sites, we’re going to have a little fun and turn the Patriots roster upside down and form the absolute worst 53-man group.

Here is what the Patriots roster would look like if Bill Belichick was trying to sabotage the franchise:

Quarterbacks (2): Jacoby Brissett, Jimmy Garoppolo

This is the one position (save for kicker, punter and long snapper) where the Patriots aren’t going to cut anyone, as both Brissett and Garoppolo will need to be on the active roster while Brady is sidelined. However, the worst incarnation of the Patriots roster would have Brissett opening the season as the Week 1 starter, not Garoppolo.

Of course, this would be suicide. Garoppolo at least has two years of clipboard-holding under his belt, while Brissett has never step foot in a real NFL game. Brissett stands to develop into a starting candidate down the road, but not in 2016.

But for the purposes of this backwards Patriots roster prediction, Brissett is the Week 1 starter with Garoppolo backing him up.
