What The Patriots Should Do On Day 3

After an amazing 1st round in the NFL draft, the Patriots made some head scratching plays on day 2. Now, armed with 4 4th round picks, the Patriots can redeem themselves by drafting these players.

Josh Shaw or Ifo Ekpre-Olomu

Somehow Josh Shaw and Ifo Kepre-Olomu are still on the board. It’s crazy really. I had third round grades on both of these guys, but both have slipped. The Patriots have the 2nd overall pick in the 4th round, so 1 of them has to be available. Getting depth at CB is a must at some point.

Tre’ Jackson

This IS who the Patriots should draft with the 2nd pick of the 4th round. I had this guy ranked so much higher. It’s amazing he’s still there. La’el Collins is the better overall prospect, but he’s a way bigger risk. Just draft Jackson at the beginning of the 4th and call it a day. That way he can Stork can reunite and make a powerhouse offensive line.

Justin Hardy, Kenny Bell or Stefon Diggs

I don’t know if the Patriots are in the market for a WR seeing is how they can’t develop them, but if they are they should look at one of these 3. Bell will most likely be available in the middle of the 4th, I don’t think Hardy will. If the Patriots can find a way to move around, they should look at Hardy first. If not, Diggs can probably be had at the end of the 4th. I’m really holding out hope they draft Diggs at some point. This guy could be a beast.

Running Back

Highly doubtful that they draft a running back at all. If they do, it won’t be Ajayi, it would be someone like Jeremy Langford or Mike Davis. A way later 4th round selection, possibly with a comp pick. If not, they might be available in the 5th.

If the Patriots follow this method, they could go back to having an A draft grade. Yesterday was rough, really rough. Seeing Jaelen Strong get passed by really hurt. I trust what they’re doing tho. Let’s close this draft out strong.
