After the New England Patriots took down the Vikings yesterday for their first win of the season, a few players talked about the victory. Here is the official transcript: (And Brady’s)

Tom Brady

Is it exactly where you want it yet, offensively, or still some more work to do?

TB: I think we have a lot of work to do. It’s good to win. We’ll get back to work on it tomorrow.

Q: Nice to not get hit like last week?

TB: Yeah, I think we had pretty good control out there. We did a good job in the run game, took advantage of some opportunities but hopefully we can do a lot better.

Q: How about your special teams and defense? Your thoughts on maybe the whole team coming up with big plays.

TB: They made a lot of great plays, big time plays, that is what we needed. Hopefully they keep doing it. We have to start producing when we get it and take advantage of some of the things, getting the ball in the short field, you know, get it in the end zone.

Q: What about Julian’s (Edelman) role, seems like for whatever reason you and him have a force. His ability to battle through things on the touchdown where you had a guy coming free, he hung onto it, put it in a perfect spot, he still took the hit.

TB: Yeah he is doing a great job for us, he is a great player makes some good punt returns, he is a great player for our team. Hopefully, offesively we can keep making improvements. He’s a big part of that. Hopefully we can all get better.

Q: Is there any one thing that you and your team can improve upon?

TB: I am happy we won, I just wish we went out there and played like we’re capable. It’s just the way it is. I am glad we won, it was a great team win, a lot of guys contributed, a lot of great plays were made. Hopefully offensively we can do a better job next week.

Q: Do you think a lot needs fixing with you and the offense?

TB: I mean we’re going to try and make improvements, we get back to work tomorrow and see if we can do better. Certainly, same way after last week – try to make some improvements. Hopefully we can go out there and do a better job.

Q: How do you feel Stevan Ridley did today with so many yards on the ground for you?

TB: Great running, great blocking out front. He always runs really hard, we were really close on some runs to breaking him some longer ones but that was really important for us to be able to run the ball like that. We’re going to need that all season.

Q: 149 career wins for you as a quarterback, number two all-time, how does that feel for you?

TB: I am glad we won, I don’t think about those things too much but I am glad we won and you know hopefully we can do better next week.
