Tom Brady Misses Practice Due To Injured Calf, Will Start On Sunday

Quarterback Tom Brady was not at practice today for the Patriots, due to what we later found out to be an injured calf.

From Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston:

The New England Patriots haven’t played a game yet, but starting quarterback Tom Brady is already banged-up.

Brady has a calf injury and did not practice Thursday. A source indicated that Brady will be ready to go for Sunday’s season opener against the Dolphins.

This shouldn’t be too much of a concern, as Brady has missed mid-week practices many times throughout the years, but we should definitely take note. This is the first time I can remember seeing Brady listed with a calf injury, which indicates this is a new problem for the future Hall of Famer. Brady is not a mobile quarterback, so tweaking his calf won’t really affect his game, but it bears monitoring Sunday in Miami.

Here is the rest of the injury report from Doug Kyed of NESN:

Rob Gronkowski and Sealver Siliga are expected to play on Sunday, but it is not guaranteed right now. The Pats could really use both of their services down in Miami.
