Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘The Patriot Way’, your number one source to New England Patriots news and analysis from around the web.
Bill Belichick talked about how his offensive line played against the Giants on Thursday night, and while he had some positive things to say about their performance, he also pointed out that they were inconsistent. From Lee Schechter of ESPN Boston:
“When you talk about the whole line, you’re probably going to have similar comments on all of them: a lack of consistency in the running game, pass blocking [was] not perfect but certainly manageable.”
Nick O’Malley of Mass Live took a stab at predicting the Pats 53-man roster yesterday. He interestingly only has the Patriots carrying three running backs to start the year, aside from fullback James Develin. I personally think the Pats will carry four to begin the season, but O’Malley definitely brings a valid point to this discussion.
Belichick also talked about Tim Wright’s debut as a Patriot. Here is one quote from Belichick, once again via Lee Schechter:
“I think the big thing for him and for the rest of the team for us is just that chance we had to have him actually play in our system,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. “It was an abbreviated way of doing it. It’s a lot better than next week being the first time that all those things happen.”
