The Patriot Way-New England Patriots News From Around The Web

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘The Patriot Way’, your number one source to New England Patriots news and analysis from around the web.

Here is Mike Reiss’ quick reaction piece to the Patriots win. Reiss astutely points out the play of Panthers wideout Kelvin Benjamin, who I think is on the track to a successful NFL career. He had to battle with Darrelle Revis yesterday, and he made a few plays against one of the best cornerbacks of all time.

Running back Jonas Gray really impressed Doug Kyed over at NESN. Gray is definitely in the running for the Patriots’ fourth running backs spot.

Steve Beauharnais played a much better game last night, showing growth in the passing game. I really thought he could take that one back all the way, but he just didn’t have enough in the tank.

The Patriots have struggled in the third preseason game over the last couple of years, taking a few bad losses to mediocre teams. But they finally bounced out of this slump, as they absolutely took it to the Panthers.

And finally, Mike Reiss gives us his up and down players from last night. Will Smith was on the edge of making this team heading into last night, and after another poor showing, I don’t think he will make the final roster.
