The New England Patriots will play their most important preseason game this Friday in Foxboro, as they face off with the Carolina Panthers. The third preseason game always serves as the dress-rehearsal for the regular season, as the starters get a lot of playing time, sometimes into the second half.

This is our first opportunity to see the starters on the field for an extended period of time, so there will be a number of things we should be looking for. As the game gets closer, I will continue to point out certain things that I will be monitoring, but for now, here are three areas where we should be watching closely on Friday night.
