After getting last week’s preseason game off, quarterback Tom Brady will be getting some action tomorrow night in Foxboro. Ryan Mallett has been dealing with a few knee issues this last week, but it sounds like he is okay, and will participate in tomorrow’s game. And of course, Jimmy Garoppolo, everybody’s new hero, will be playing as well.
Here is the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe on the subject:
Brady will start tomorrow, and all three are expected to play, according to a source.
Ryan Mallett, who is battling a left knee injury, started last week and is also ready to go. He missed two practices and was limited Tuesday but was the second quarterback in the rotation when he was available this week in practice.
With that said, I don’t think Brady will be getting a ton of playing time, as he did get a decent amount of work against the Eagles over the course of this last week of practice. There is no point in risking losing your best player to injury, just to get Brady a few extra snaps in a preseason contest.
However will be nice to finally see Brady in some live game-action, especially against a defense that evidently has vastly improved from last year. They aren’t the ’85 Bears, but they have definitely challenged Brady and the Patriots these past few days, so it will be fun to see the two sides go at it for a few series tomorrow night.
