The New England Patriots are set to begin two days of joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles this afternoon, in advance of their preseason tilt on Friday night. I will pass along a report on what transpired today once practice comes to a conclusion, but for now, I’ll start with some attendance news.
Linebacker Jerod Mayo has not been spotted at practice, while Ryan Mallett and Brandon Browner have returned after missing yesterday’s session. I don’t know if this means Mayo is dealing with some kind of injury, but it certainly is worth noting. And as for Mallett and Browner, one day off at this point in camp could mean a number of things, but since they are back, there is no need to continue worrying about it.
QB Ryan Mallett & CB Brandon Browner return to practice for the Patriots. But LB Jerod Mayo not spotted (via @LeeSchechter).

Aaron Dobson and Dominique Easley are also at practice for the second consecutive day, which bodes well for their health come opening day. These two have been recovering from separate injuries all offseason, missing valuable practice time in the process. But now that they’re back, the optimism in Foxboro will continue to grow both on the offensive, and defensive side of the ball.
Aaron Dobson and Dominique Easley are in full pads. Both returned to practice yesterday.
