Rob Gronkowski Cleared To Play, Will Not Go On PUP List

On the first day of New England Patriots training camp, we have received some awesome news.

In his opening press conference, head coach Bill Belichick said that tight end Rob Gronkowski has been cleared to play, and will not be placed on the PUP list.

Having Gronk on the field throughout this season, and into the playoffs is extremely important to the Patriots’ Super Bowl chances, as he is one of the few mismatches that Tom Brady can go to at any time. When healthy, there is nobody in the NFL that can cover the big man, and I am hoping that he will be 100% healthy come week one.

Here are a few quotes from other Patriots players on this news: (From Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston)

Logan Mankins:

“It’s a positive. We were all hoping Gronk would have a good recovery and so far he has. Anytime you can have Gronk on the field, it’s great.”

Rob Ninkovich:

“I’m happy to see his progress and see him coming into this season and staying healthy; obviously, that’s what everyone is talking about. I don’t want to speak on his behalf, but he’s one of the hardest working guys I’ve ever seen as well.”

“Gronk is Gronk. ‘Yo soy fiesta,’ right?”. Personality-wise, he’s one of the best guys you could ever meet. He’s a great guy off the field who will say hi to anybody and do anything for you.”
