Forbes has released this year’s rankings of the most valuable sports teams in the world, and the New England Patriots check in at number eight. They trail only the Dallas Cowboys in terms of NFL teams, as Dallas managed to crack the top five.
They value the New England Patriots at $1.8 billion, noting that they have sold out every home game since 1994, despite having the second highest ticket prices in the league.
Value: $1.8 billion
Owner: Robert Kraft
The Patriots have sold out every home game since 1994 even though their ticket prices are second-highest in the league.
I love Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, but you have to give a ton of credit to Robert Kraft. Once he took over this team, they have been at the top of the NFL, winning three Super Bowls, and going to six. He has completely turned this club around, and the future looks bright.
In addition to this, I think this squad will continue to move up this list over the next couple of years. While they probably won’t get to number one, cracking the top five isn’t out of the question.
Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, the New York Yankees, the Dallas Cowboys, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Bayern Munich are the seven teams that are more valuable than the New England Patriots.
