‘Thursday Night Football’ is not the most popular idea in the world.
I for one am not a big fan of it, and I know for a fact there are plenty of other football fans that don’t like it either. But don’t count Patriots coach Bill Belichick in that group. He reportedly likes these games, and ‘would gladly’ take more than one per year.
Kraft said Pats head coach Bill Belichick “likes the Thursday night games and would be happy to have more than one in a season.”
I am honestly not surprised to hear Belichick say this, because honestly, it is a very “Belichick-like” think to say. He loves gaining any kind of advantage possible, and if it means preparing on a short schedule, then so be it. The Patriots generally are one of the most prepared teams in the NFL, so it makes sense for them to want more games like this in the future.
As it stands, they only will get one in 2014, and beyond. This year, they play the New York Jets. The game will be on October 16th, in Foxboro.
So we can chalk that one up as a victory, right? (Sorry Jets fans, I had to get a little jab in there).
