Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘The Patriot Way’, your number one source to Patriots news from around the web.

Bucky Brooks of NFL.com ranks the top 10 cover cornerbacks in the NFL. He lists Patriots defensive back Darrelle Revis as the third best in the league, only behind Patrick Peterson, and Richard Sherman. While this certainly is a fair assessment, I personally think Revis is still the best the NFL has to offer. He may have slipped a bit last year due to his knee injury, but I am confident that the world will once again agree that he is the best corner in the league once the 2014 season comes to an end.

Over at Sporting News, Vinne Iyer ranks the Pats defense as the sixth most dominating defensive unit in the game. He also gives Tom Brady‘s offense that same ranking.  For right now, these are fair rankings. However as the season progresses, I have a feeling that the Patriots’ defense will climb into the top five, possibly even the top three. There is a ton of talent in the back end, which is key to obtaining an elite defense in today’s NFL.

Nick O’Malley breaks down the quarterbacks position as we head into training camp. This battle is pretty simple: Jimmy Garoppolo will fight with Ryan Mallett to become Tom Brady’s backup. That’s all.

And finally, an attempt to suppress evidence by Aaron Hernandez‘s lawyers has been denied.
