5. Drew Brees

Aside from Tom Brady, Brees may be my favorite quarterback in the league. I love his work ethic, leadership, and utter dominance in that dome of his. But at the same time, I can’t put him higher than this five spot. Brees has an excellent, and accurate arm, and always leads one of the best offenses in the NFL year in, and year out. However he has a few big weaknesses that drop him below the other elite quarterbacks in the NFL.

As much as I love watching him win at home, it is a downfall being that inconsistent from inside the dome, to anywhere else. Brees struggles to manufacture enough offense on the road, particularly in the playoffs, where elite players are expected to get it done. Brees doesn’t do that. Until he finds a way to consistently win outside of New Orleans, he won’t crack the top four.

2013 Stats: 5,162 yards, 39 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 104.7 passer rating
