Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘The Patriot Way’, your number one source to New England Patriots news and analysis from around the web.
Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston talks about the Patriots’ offensive line, and who may or may not make the cut for the final roster. He interestingly thinks that Ryan Wendell and Dan Connolly might not be on this squad come week one of the regular season. I agree on Connolly, as he is making a ton of money, and his play has declined sharply. But I don’t know about leaving the center position up to a rookie if Wendell leaves. It will be fun to observe this battle throughout training camp this summer.
“I mean Darrelle is one of the best corners in the NFL,” Edelman said. “He showed it in camp. He did very well. He’s a very instinctive player. He’s great in the locker room. I like competing against him every day. It’s good to have another player like that.”
And finally, here is Greg Knopping’s of ‘Pats Pulpit’ early offensive starter projections for 2014. He has Josh Boyce in over Aaron Dobson, and because Dobson has missed so much time, I think that could be a real possibility as of right now. But if Dobson can get healthy, I think he will quickly establish that he is the superior player, and Bill Belichick will insert him into the starting lineup.
