Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘The Patriot Way’, your number one source to New England Patriots news and analysis from around the web.
From Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston, here are the players that he thinks have built some momentum in offseason activities. I am encouraged by what he said about Kenbrell Thompkins, because if Thompkins can improve his game and become a solid contributor in 2014, this New England Patriots offense will be tough to defend. Not to mention fellow second year man Aaron Dobson, who we all hope can make that second year jump in the league.
To the other side of the spectrum, as Reiss gives us the players he thinks have yet to build any momentum. The guys on this list have been hurt this offseason, which has prevented them from participating in much of minicamp, something that is key to gaining a good rapport with the rest of the team. Dobson is on this list, which already sets him back from the rest of the receivers.
Here is Chris Burke’s offseason report card for the New England Patriots. Burke gives the Pats a C+, which in my mind is not what they should have gotten. Yes, they lost a few key players, and didn’t add any big talent on offense, but their additions in the secondary have instantly give them one of the best defensive backfields in the league. It certainly wasn’t a great offseason, but it wasn’t horrible either.
