Aaron Dobson Likely Out For Patriots Minicamp

According to Nick Underhill of masslive.com, wide receiver Aaron Dobson will probably not be practicing with the Patriots this week.

Perhaps there will be a surprise appearance at minicamp Tuesday, but it currently does not look like Aaron Dobson will be taking part in practices this week.

Dobson, who is recovering from March foot surgery and did not take part in organized team activities, is said to be doubtful for this week’s mandatory minicamp, according to a source.

This doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise, as Dobson had not been a participant in voluntary OTA’s up until now, which we all assumed to be injury related. With that said, the Pats need Dobson to get healthy soon, because he will be a key cog in their offensive machine in 2014.

Dobson is the one guy in Tom Brady‘s receiving corps that has the size and speed to become a solid vertical threat, and if the Pats want to advance deep into the playoffs come January, they will need someone that can take the top off of the opposing defense. We will keep you updated on Dobson’s injury status as we move towards training camp.

Last year Dobson finished the season with 37 receptions, 519 yards, and four touchdowns.
